What is WinShell:
=================

WinShell is a graphical user interface for easy working
with TeX. It is NOT a TeX-System. You need an additional
TeX-package for DOS or Windows:

To make it even better you may use the ghostviewer:

What is new:
============

- supports multi-language interface

- Project-File
   Actually it is quite simple. Just use the project like in
   other applications: add, remove etc.

   # By double-clicking on a file it will open.

   # By double-clicking on an entry of the 'Table of Contents'
     the file will open at that specific position. But one has
     to write the text 'correct':

     Type the brace directly after the chapter,section, etc., e.g.
     \section{this is my section}
                NOT
     \section {this is my section}

   The 'Table of Contents' contains
   \chapter \section \subsection \subsubsection

- Unix-files can be read. 

- Command-Line-Arguments: You may open Winshell with

    winshell -m main_tex_file -c current_tex_file -l current_line

- userdata - storage:
    Windows NT4.0 in the Profiles-directory
    Windows 9x    in the WinShell-directory

  existing userdata should be moved to the appropriate directory
  and renamed as followed:

    WinShell.ini
    WinShell.macros
    UserTools.bmp     ->  WinShellTools.bmp
    UserMacros.bmp    ->  WinShellMacros.bmp
    Commands.txt      ->  WinShell.commands
    Environments.txt  ->  WinShell.environments

- Syntax-Highlighting

  Commands and Environments can be definied in

    WinShell.commands
    WinShell.environments

- differentiation between Main-TeX-Document and current TeX-Document

- toggle wrap mode

Installation:
=============

Copy the files from the zip-archive to any directory


Your first start:
=================

shouldn't make any problems. The toolbars for the little
helpers are tied to the menubar. They can be moved around
and you can show or hide them. This condition will be saved
when regularly leaving the program and be restored at the
next program start.

What else:
==========

There is an english Latex2e-help included taken from
the mikTeX-package.
