What is WinShell:
=================

WinShell ist a graphical user interface for easy working
with TeX. It is NOT a TeX-System. You need an additional
TeX-package for DOS/Windows:

ftp://ftp.dante.de/pub/tex/systems/win32/ (recommended)

To make it even better you may use the ghostviewer:

ftp://ftp.dante.de/pub/tex/support/ghostscript/aladdin/ and
ftp://ftp.dante.de/pub/tex/support/ghostscript/rjl/

If you don't like the DVI-Viewer from the packages:

ftp://ftp.dante.de/pub/tex/dviware/dviwin/


What is new:
============

- Command-Line-Argument: You may open Winshell with

    winshell -m main_tex_file -c current_tex_file -l current_line
 
- Unix-files can be read. The are saved as ASCII-PC files

Installation:
=============

When you read this file the program should be already
installed. Otherwise just run the setup.exe-file...


Your first start:
=================

shouldn't make any problems. The toolbars for the little
helpers are tied to the menubar. They can be moved around
and you can show or hide them. This condition will be saved
when regularly leaving the program and be restored at the
next program start.

What else:
==========

There is an english Latex2e-help included taken from
the mikTeX-package.
