Re: Search and Replace error
Forgot about this thread till I was doing some topology homework and used search & replace!
A few weeks ago my entire system went down thanks to me mucking about in the registry where I didn't belong. With a fresh OS install, search & replace works just fine.

Re: Search and Replace error
Uninstalled old version, installed the beta, and got the same error.
I've tried to remember when this first popped up, but it was a month or so ago. Perhaps it's something wrong with some system call returning an error code that it normally wouldn't and isn't caught?
My semester ends (effectively) this Thursday, I'll give my PC a thorough cleaning and run some tests on it.

Re: Search and Replace error
Hi,
I got your WinShell.ini file. I removed it from this thread, because it is too large for this forum.
I checked it with the same WinShell version on Win7 and WinXP. In both cases, I could not reproduce the problem. Also, the WinShell.ini file looks okay.
Could you test the latest beta version?

Re: Search and Replace error
Hi,
unfortunately, I cannot reproduce this problem. But WinShell is crashed as far as I can judge from the image and your text.
I checked it on WinXP, also there it works.
Please send me your WinShell.ini file via email. You find it in your profiles directory. How to get there explains the WinShell manual.
greets Ingo

Re: Search and Replace error
Here is an image of what I getUpon clicking the OK button, the same exact box appears again, ad infinitum. This dialog box won't let the winshell window gain focus so I can't do anything, except of course killing winshell. I just uninstalled and then reinstalled winshell and the same error persists. I also can't seem to find a WinShell.ini file.
